Veterinarian/Owner
Dr. Beeson comes to Vine Veterinary Hospital as its new owner. After a very successful career as the owner of Village Way Veterinary Hospital in Davie County, NC, Dr. Beeson sold his practice to a corporate entity in 2018 and assumed he was destined for retirement. But after 4 years and yearning to have something important to do each day, he decided to get back into vet medicine. Dr. Beeson brings a lot of expertise in surgery to the practice having performed thousands of procedures during his 33 year career at Village Way Vet. Dr. Beeson grew up on a dairy farm in Randolph County and went to UNC-Chapel Hill as a journalism major. After graduating with an education degree, he taught high school English for one year before deciding to go back to school and pursue a DVM degree. After a brief stint at NC State where he picked up all the prerequisites needed for vet school, he went on to the University of Tennessee, graduating in 1986 with his DVM degree. After graduation, he moved to Winston-Salem, NC and worked under Dr. Don Robertson at Oldtown Veterinary Hospital. He started his own practice a year later in eastern Davie County in what is present day Bermuda Run.
Dr. Beeson and his wife Susan have 3 sons; Andrew, Will and Ben. Dr. James loves both dogs and cats and has a special dog at home named Dilly, along with 3 cats, Buttons, Iris and Ruby. Dr. Beeson looks forward to taking great care of your pets just like he would his own.

Associate Veterinarian
I grew up riding horses and that's ultimately what led me to become a veterinarian. I am a two time NC State graduate; I completed my B.S. in animal science in 2017 and graduated from NC State's veterinary school in 2023. Since graduating I completed a ruminant focused internship where I spent most of my time treating pet goats and other farm animals. Since then, I have been receiving specialized training in dog and cat anesthesia at NC State's vet school. I am also working towards being board certified in animal welfare. I have a special interest in animal behavior and pain management. I love chatting about your pets and also love seeing your favorite photos of them!
I live in Raleigh with my husband Jacob, my dog Hazel, and our two cats Remy and Maggie. In my free time I read trashy romance novels and eat at new restaurants as much as possible.
